As with many of us, I started fishing with my dad when I was 9 years old. Back in those days I used to fish with a float rod and manage to catch a small carp which got me hooked. Then as I got older I discovered carp fishing was definitely for me and the passion was ignited. Over the years I have fished numerous venues. I was a member at linear fisheries guys lake syndicate for a few years and had some cracking fish from Gaunts Lake. My first uk 30lb mirror was from horseshoe lake many years ago and my current pb was from Wellington Country Park a fish called lumpy which was probably my best capture for a number of reasons. In more recent years I have been fishing more commercial day ticket waters and I have been lucky enough to travel to France two or three times a year. My preferred method of fishing in winter and early spring in the uk is solid pva bags, the warmer months I do like to give em a bit of bait, so spodding and some kind of wafter presentation on a helicopter set up would be my go to method. However I am more than happy to ring the changes. The weather plays a big part in my fishing nowadays, especially wind directions, pressures, moon phases, even to the extent I am getting a little obsessed. Tightlines and hope to see you on the bank sometime.
